Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ - China League 2025

Longines FEI

The FEI Show Jumping World Cup is one of the most important equestrian leagues of the FEI, leading the world in terms of influence, level, difficulty and the number of participants. Authorized by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) and evaluated by the Chinese Equestrian Association, the Beijing Equestrian Sports Association, Tianxing Diaoliang Equestrian and Zhongma Tianxing Events have been granted the right to jointly host the 2024-2028 Longines FEI Show Jumping World Cup China League. The organizing committee of the World Cup China League publicly selected qualified cities across the country as the event venues to ensure the high-level hosting of the event. Eventually, three cities, Beijing, Wuhan and Chengdu, were selected. Longines, a world-renowned brand with a deep connection to equestrian sports, has become the title sponsor, title partner, official timing and data processing operator, and official designated watch of the FIA Show Jumping World Cup China League.

The number of equestrian clubs in China has grown significantly, the scale of events has been continuously expanding, and the number of participants has been increasing day by day. Equestrian sports are gradually integrating into the daily life of the people and have become a popular sport with strong fashionable charm and leisure characteristics, as well as consumption-leading features. The Chinese Equestrian Association actively introduces high-profile sports events with international influence, such as the FIA Show Jumping World Cup. This not only helps to enhance the enthusiasm of the general public for participating in sports but also serves as a powerful engine for promoting the development of China's sports industry.

The 2025 Longines FIA Show Jumping World Cup China League will hold two leg races in Beijing from April 24th to 27th and in Wuhan from May 30th to June 2nd. The final will be held in Chengdu from December 11th to 14th.

On April 25th, Beijing time, the first day of the 2025 Longines FIA Show Jumping World Cup China League Beijing Station kicked off at the Tianxing Diaoliang Equestrian Club.

The event includes a 0.80M level bilateral time-matching race, a 1.00M level time-competing race, a 1.20M level two-stage race, a 90-second warm-up training for the World Cup, a 1.10M level individual race, a 1.40M Longines World Cup qualifying race, a 1.30M level time-competing race, a 0.90M level special two-stage race, a 1.20M level team time-competing race, and a 1.35M level The last round, the immediate play-off and the 1.45M Longines World Cup, totaling 12 matches and training sessions

The route designer for the 2025 Longines FIA Show Jumping World Cup Finals was Gerard Lachat from Switzerland.

In the 1.20M level two-stage race, he designed a route with a total of 13 obstacles for the 52 pairs of riders and horses participating. Among them, obstacles 1 to 8 were the first stage, and obstacles 9 to 13 were the second stage.

In the first stage, the double combination obstacle that connected to 7AB on the 6th and then to the 8th obstacle blocked many horse and rider combinations from advancing to the second stage with zero penalty points. After completing the first stage with zero penalty points and entering the second stage, the 8th obstacle to the 9th, the 9th obstacle to the 10th, and the 11th obstacle to the 12th can all save race time by turning inside the obstacles.

In the 1.00M time race, Geral Lasha set a route for the 53 pairs participating, consisting of a total of 11 obstacles and 12 jumps, with an allowable time of 81 seconds. In the competition, the first lane to the second obstacle, the fifth lane to the sixth obstacle, and the ninth lane to the tenth obstacle can all save time by turning inside. During the more challenging inside turns and faster basic movement speeds, many man-horse combinations experienced unexpected situations such as hitting the bar, refusing to jump, and slipping past the hurdles

In the 1.40M Longines World Cup qualifiers, a route with a total of 12 obstacles and 15 jumps (including a double combination obstacle of 4AB and a triple combination obstacle of 7ABC) was set up for the 39 pairs participating in the competition, with an allowable time of 81 seconds

In the competition, the 4AB associated obstacle jump 4 steps after the third obstacle and the associated obstacle advance of the 8th obstacle 6/7 steps after the 7ABC pose extremely high requirements for the accuracy of the human-horse combination's advance. When 4AB takes over the fifth obstacle and the eighth obstacle takes over the ninth obstacle, the game time can be saved through the inside rotation.

In the 1.30M race, facing the 12 obstacles and 14 jumps (including two double combination obstacles, 4AB and 7AB) designed by Geral Lasha, the route allows a time of 83 seconds. The 37 pairs of riders and horses participating in the competition launched an assault and challenge on the championship podium. During the process of moving at a faster base speed and making smaller turns, many of the riders and horses encountered problems.
